The PositionOverview
Roche Pharma UruBoPa offers an exciting and dynamic opportunity for an executive to lead and inspire in a competitive and complex market, where the importance of customer centricity and agility are key.
As a General Manager (GM) you will act as an agile leader (Visionary, Architect, Coach and Catalyst) and ensure all employees live Pharma International’s desired state of culture. While reporting to the Latam Area Head, you will lead an externally focused and agile organization with a mindset and culture that engages our employees to bring our medicines and services to more patients faster, while shaping the healthcare system toward long-term sustainability.
The Position
You have an enterprise mindset and always favor the overall corporate vision and outcomes. You will be a member of the Latam Enabling Team and Pharma International GM community, contributing to the international network by your leadership impact beyond UruBoPa. You will also effectively partner and co-create the future with the local Roche Diagnostics business, synergizing and amplifying Roche strengths to make an exponential impact on the health ecosystem within and beyond UruBoPa. You always put patients at the center of our operations and ensure everything we do will sustainably benefit patients and bring value to our society.
You act as the ‘PPOC’ for UruBoPa´s senior policy stakeholders and establish Roche as a trusted partner by actively shaping local & broader healthcare ecosystems towards long term sustainability, in UruBoPa and across Latin America.
Thirdly, bring the Pharma International and Roche vision and principles, and Latam outcomes to life in UruBoPa and ensure pull through both internally and externally by providing enterprise leadership to a highly externally-focused organization which is focused on co-creating with stakeholders and partners, ensuring alignment with local and global regulations, license to operate requirements and adherence to the Roche Group Code of Conduct.
A critical priority will also be to build a diverse talent pipeline by fostering an agile mindset and encouraging an inclusive network culture and people fluidity that provides exceptional learning opportunities to our employees and the organization and inspires them to collectively bring our innovation to more patients faster.
Delivering on all above parts with the intention of accelerating our journey to the North Star by driving enterprise outcomes and contributing in equal measures to the performance of both country (incl. You have a successful track record of role modeling and passionately advocating VACC (Visionary, Architect, Coach and Catalyst) leadership, Roche Operating principles, and inclusive leadership in a commercial environment
You are an experienced and highly creative leader of cross-functional and networked teams, who knows how to both attract, retain and develop diverse talent and connect them to the wider enterprise.
You maintain a global strategic mindset, and inspire high performance of a multi-generational self-organized empowered team - with clear and compelling impact internally and externally
You can operate at a strategic level AND you can be hands-on - all in service of our North Star and the ecosystem
You are an effective global communicator and mobilize teams to our purpose and vision.
Requirements:
Significant experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a range of large-scale leadership and cross portfolio/functional/ commercial roles, ideally with a mix of global and local roles. Previous GM experience is preferred.
Demonstrated high impact internally and externally given your strong customer focus with a keen eye on delivering patient value
Strong understanding, appreciation, and ability to operate in a diverse cultural context - you have strong commercial awareness and the ability to thrive in changing economic environments. Proven ecosystem-shaping experience in dynamic political environments would be an advantage
Having worked in Emerging Markets and knowledge of complex political and economical environments is preferred
Strong financial business acumen and proven track record of ensuring financial and license to operate governance
Strong commitment to personal development and demonstration of a growth mindset
Ability to lead teams and creating a working culture that is transparent and values driven and ensures personal growth of employees; track record of VACC leadership, developing talent, hiring the best, and strong people judgment
Demonstrated leadership aptitude, aligned with VACC competencies
Fluency in Spanish and English is required
