General Manager Warehouse Operations

Pay Range

$97,300.00 - $180,800.00

PURPOSE
The GM Warehouse Operations will provide leadership and supervision for all warehouse activities including receiving, storage, inventory, movement and shipping of products, materials, supplies and equipment. This individual will focus on providing excellent customer service and general support to the retail stores and the Store Support Center.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative

Establish operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, inventory management and control, and safety trainingDetermine space requirements and plan layout of warehouse considering turnover, size, weight, multiple SKU’s and related factors of items in storageWork within a Warehouse Management System (WMS)Prepare and manage departmental budgets including payroll projectionsEnsure proper record keeping of training and safety programsDetermine work procedures, create work schedules and expedite workflowMaintain written warehouse process descriptions and flowchartsReview warehouse records for accuracy

Supervisory FunctionsProvide leadership to the Warehouse SupervisorsSupervise staff to include selection and annual evaluationDaily supervision of a 1Million+ square foot warehouse environmentMaintain clean, safe, efficient work environment meeting all safety standards (OSHA)Conduct walk-throughs in the warehouse to ensure workers are following established warehouse processes and safety regulations (OSHA) and that equipment is kept clean and well maintained

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

BA/BS degree in General Business or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the companyFive years of relevant experience required (relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education)Industry experience in a warehouse or distribution center preferredProven track record of delivering results and streamlining operationsExperience with Profit & Loss metricsExcellent problem solving and analytical skillsMust be detail oriented and organizedMust possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressureStrong computer skills including Microsoft Office SuiteWarehouse Management System experience (Manhattan preferred)Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work independently, within a team across all levels and diverse cultures, and the ability to lead team projectsExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skillsSubject to National Security screening.


WORKING CONDITIONS (TRAVEL, HOURS, ENVIRONMENT)

This position is salaried, knowing it may include hours which exceed eight hours in a day or forty hours in a week.Occasional travel required including air and car travel.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to noisy.


PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
Medium Work – Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Store Support Center Associates
Provide leadership and support training on all Safety programs, processes and procedures, insuring that every associate is properly trained for their position.
Follow established Safety procedures in all aspects of work assignments applicable to the position. This includes participating in all Safety related training and acquiring certifications. Each associate is responsible for Safety at the Store Support Center and when visiting other company work locations. All Safety concerns must be brought to the attention of the management of a location and/or the Store Support Center Safety Department immediately.
