General Mechanic (Battery Changer)

C Shift Wednesday 12pm-6pm, Thursday-Saturday 6am-6pm

Duties

This position requires the moving of equipment in and out of maintenance to perform battery changes. Other duties include operating the battery changer, filling batteries, cleaning, recycling, and assisting maintenance with projects. Standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling and reaching are required. Must be willing to lift, push, pull, or carry 70 pounds or more. Must be willing to work in a cold environment that averages 28°F with an occasional 0°F. Other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

BATTERY MAINTENANCE- MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 6 MONTHS FORKLIFT OPERATOR EXPERIENCE LISTED ON APPLICATION OR RESUME.

6 Month forklift experience with the same employer required within the last 3 years. No gaps in employment greater than 6 months within the last 3 years. Cold storage experience is preferred, 3 months standup forklift is preferred.

Computers are used a lot for this job so while computer proficiency isn’t a requirement, it is a plus.Must have a valid state driver’s license and no DWI/DUI conviction within the previous 12 months.Changing batteries using the battery changing machinePreventative maintenance on all equipment using required PPELogging Preventative Maintenance (PMs) in SAPMaintaining a clean and orderly work environmentKeep up with communication via Radio, Teams, and EmailOther duties as assigned
