Engineer/General Mechanic - Engineering

Full-time, day shift

Job Description:

Perform a variety of general, structural and mechanical and technical; electrical, plumbing, pipefitting, heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, carpentry, finish and painting trade skills in the performance of preventative and corrective maintenance as well as inspections, servicing, repair, and overhaul of equipment in the hospital and surrounding facilities.

Perform duties on the pneumatic tube system, fleet vehicle maintenance and Plant Engineering parts and supply procurement.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent is required, or higher.

Degree from a vocational school in Industrial Maintenance, plus 3 to 5 years previous experience in industrial or building maintenance is preferred, or 5 years of satisfactory experience as a Mechanic I.

Ability to work under deadlines and stress is required.

A valid driver’s license and good driving record is required.

Mandatory nonviolent crisis prevention training to be completed prior to end of orientation period and maintained annually.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge in NEC, NFPA, KBC, BOCA, ASME, ASHRAE, OSHA, & KPC is preferred.
