About the role:
We are currently seeking a General Operative to join the Bond Operations team based at Midleton Distillery, reporting to the Bond Supervisor. This role plays a vital part in the Cask Management Process for our award-winning Irish whiskeys.
The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, excellent knowledge of warehouse equipment, and a strong focus on health and safety.
Work Pattern
You will work a rotating two-shift cycle, which currently operates as follows:
Shift 1: 7:00 am to 14:45 pm, Monday to Thursday; 07:00 am to 13:45 pm on Friday.Shift 2: 14:30 pm to 22:15 pm, Monday to Thursday; 13:30 pm to 20:15 pm on Friday.You will also be required to work one late shift in a three-week period.
Main Responsibilities
Unloading various types of casks in a safe and efficient manner.Filling and emptying casks.Filling and emptying tankers in the Vathouse tanker station.Operating production line equipment such as the stacker, bander, and coding system.Ensuring compliance with all company and site policies, including Bond Procedures and Quality, Safety, and Environmental standards.Actively contributing value-adding ideas for process improvements.Ensuring hygiene and housekeeping are maintained to the highest standards.Safely handling all casks and operating in compliance with health and safety guidelines.Being aware of risks and risk assessments that apply to each task.Skills and Attributes Required
Minimum of 12 months of experience in a General Operative role within a manufacturing environment.Strong experience in contributing to process improvements and bringing new ideas.Knowledge of quality, environmental, and health & safety standards.Excellent communication skills.A highly motivated self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude.A strong team player who is flexible, reliable, and capable of building effective relationships.Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team.LIFE AT IRISH DISTILLERS
