Job Description
Work in a production shop operating a Roll-Forming machine or Polishing machine to create metal seals of various sizes. Most seals are small (about the size of your hand), but there are also larger seals that are more advanced. You will load sheet metal bands onto a roll-former, use a foot pump to run the machine, and roll the metal into circular seals, inspecting parts as they are manufactured. You may also polish seals by hand or by machine.
ResponsibilitiesOperate Roll-Forming and Polishing machines to create metal seals.Load sheet metal bands onto roll-formers.Use a foot pump to run the machine and roll the metal into circular seals.Inspect parts as they are manufactured, approximately every 10 seconds.Polish seals using sandpaper, either by hand or machine.Read work orders and follow written instructions carefully.Handle and manipulate small parts with precision.Cross-train and be flexible with moving between rolling and polishing tasks.Perform cosmetic quality inspections of parts.Essential SkillsPrior manufacturing experience.Aptitude for math, basic counting skills, and experience with measuring tools like calipers.Ability to perform cosmetic quality inspections.Capability to work independently and manage processes without constant supervision.Good ability to read and follow instructions efficiently.Additional Skills & QualificationsEnjoyment of simple, light, and repetitive work.Bi-annual eye exams and vision tests are required.Ability to see defects and fine details for quality inspection and control purposes.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Employees may sit close to other machine operators and can wear headphones while working. There are three buildings, with one focusing on high quantity batch parts and another on custom, one-off seals.

The pay range for this position is $17.25 - $18.25
