General Production Worker
**Job Title: General Production Worker** **Job Description** Perform repetitive hand polishing and buffing operations on a variety of parts using prescribed wheels and abrasives. Set up polishing/buffing equipment and select proper wheels and abrasives, changing wheels and belts as specified. Load, process, and unload parts from mechanical tumbling and automated sandblast machines, monitoring and replacing media as needed. Prepare finished parts for the next operation in the value stream and complete required documentation. Perform preventive maintenance activities, daily equipment inspections, and maintain disciplined 6S checklist routines to ensure a safe and clean working environment. Perform other related duties as assigned by the production supervisor. **Responsibilities** + Perform repetitive hand polishing and buffing operations on various parts using prescribed wheels and abrasives. + Set up polishing/buffing equipment and select appropriate wheels and abrasives. + Change wheels and belts as specified. + Load, process, and unload parts from mechanical tumbling machines. + Monitor tumbling media wear and replace per production schedule or as needed. + Load, process, and unload parts from automated sandblast machines. + Monitor blasting media and replace per production schedule or as needed. + Prepare finished parts for the next operation in the value stream and complete documentation for the work completed. + Perform various preventive maintenance activities, including daily inspection of equipment. + Maintain disciplined 6S checklist routines to ensure a safe and clean working environment. + Perform other related duties as assigned by the production supervisor. **Essential Skills** + Minimum 1 to 2 years' experience in a similar or manufacturing environment. + HS Diploma. + Ability to follow written instructions. + Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with production, assembly, machine operation, packaging, and inspection. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy a structured work environment with opportunities for skill development and career growth. Frequently lifting (below shoulder and above shoulder) 30 to 50 lbs. Frequently pushing/pulling 30 to 50 lbs. Occasionally stooping, kneeling, or bending for 2 hours per day. Must be able to consistently operate a productivity machine for a minimum of 6 hours per day. Must be able to communicate and exchange information with other members of the organization verbally, nonverbally, and in writing. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Haven, Connecticut. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.80/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
