**Job Title: Bar Saw Operator** **Location:** Southington, CT **Shift:** 2nd Shift **Job Summary:** Yarde Metals is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bar Saw Operator to join our dynamic Operations Team in Southington, CT. As a Bar Saw Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and safely operating saws to cut materials according to customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment. **Key Responsibilities:** + **Safety First:** Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure the safe operation of equipment at all times. + Organize and prioritize work orders to ensure efficient processing of materials. + Transport materials throughout the warehouse using forklifts and cranes. + Set up machines by selecting the appropriate nozzles, speeds, and feeds. + Measure materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures. + Verify that source materials are from the correct location and match the specifications. + Perform first-piece and in-process inspections in line with the quality sampling plan. + Stack and sort finished products for proper packaging. + Pack and secure materials for shipment to prevent damage during transport. + Perform regular saw maintenance and clean equipment according to established procedures. + Assist with other warehouse duties as directed by the supervisor. **Required Skills and Qualifications:** + **Safety Awareness:** This is a **SAFETY-SENSITIVE** position, requiring the operation of heavy machinery. + High School diploma or equivalent preferred. + Strong work ethic with a history of working safely and efficiently. + Experience in warehouse operations, material handling, and forklift operation required. + Previous experience in machining or related field strongly preferred. + Ability to read and interpret English work instructions. + Basic math skills, including the ability to convert decimals and fractions, and accurately use measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers). + High attention to detail and a commitment to quality. + Dependable, punctual, and a team player. + Ability to work overtime as needed. **Experience Level:** Entry-level position with opportunities for growth. **Preferred Skills:** + Experience in warehouse, shipping, receiving, and general labor. + Forklift certification is a plus.
