Job Title: General Production Worker - White Zone
Job Description

Candidates will be responsible for labour duties related to the assembly and packaging of copper tube products. This involves using a roll over mandrill process to manufacture copper tubing of various sizes from scrap and incorporating value-added processes such as insulation and fittings. Specifically, the candidates will work in the Extrusion Press department.

ResponsibilitiesOperate several machines in the White Zone, including those that draw copper into different sizes and lengths.Point and cut tubes, or hook lifts of tubing for the overhead crane to transport.Learn and manage different machines within the area.Receive and put away materials, and hand out materials to the floor in the Stores department.Perform computer work and some heavy lifting as required.In the Linesets area, cut copper to lengths from 15-50 feet, apply foam, coil, and pack into boxes to create lineset kits.Work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.In the Extrusion Press area, heat copper blocks and extrude them through a die to form tubes, straighten tubes, and check for quality.Operate a connected machine to the press and manage heavy lifting tasks.In the Copper Zone, finish and pack copper from the annealing furnace into various packages such as wooden crates, cardboard boxes, and skids.Sort copper tubing with a micrometer, pack, bundle, and plug the ends of tubes.Essential SkillsAbility to lift 50 lbs regularly, bend, and squat.6+ months of experience in heavy machine operation or similar experience.6+ months of experience working in a labour-intensive environment.Experience in roofing, construction, tree planting, landscaping, or heavy industrial settings.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in production, assembly, general labor, and machine operating.Familiarity with manufacturing environments and using hand tools.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This manufacturing facility involves the melting, pouring, and forming of copper, with large overhead cranes moving regularly. The environment can be incredibly hot in the summer, with temperatures reaching up to 40°C, though personal air conditioners are provided at most stations. The culture is hardworking with many long-term employees, and teamwork is essential as team sizes range from 2 to 5 members. Steel-toed boots are required, and uniforms are provided. The role involves a three-shift rotation every two weeks: Midnight shift (12am-8am), Afternoon shift (4pm-12am), and Day shift (8am-4pm).
