SUMMARY:

This position may be responsible for planning and supervising the execution of cost effective and timely maintenance necessary for the operation of all equipment at both Smart Chicken Plants.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directing coordinating and supporting maintenance and refrigeration personnelAdministering PSM program working with contractors vendors or company engineering in the modification or installation of equipmentTroubleshooting and resolving new and or different technical problems regarding equipmentAble to install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot ammonia, hydraulic and electrical systems; Must be highly organized with time management and archiving of informationMaintaining relevant recordsEnsuring OSHA standards and programs are implementedEnsure compliance with PSM regulations, including proper handling and disposal of refrigerants, as per OSHA guidelines.Instructing in the use of personal protective equipmentImplementing new ways of improving ergonomics within the facilityCoordinating Team Member schedulesHandling clocking reports and attendance recordsHolding monthly safety meetingsPerforming other responsibilities as assigned on all shifts of refrigeration maintenanceImplement and maintain PSM documentation, including policies, procedures, and training programs.Thorough knowledge of process safety management (PSM) regulations, including OSHA's Process Safety Management standard, and refrigeration safety procedures.Thorough knowledge of high pressure water systems, boiler systems, among others aligning with a washdown environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Education beyond high school including special training vocational school and or college courses or an equivalent; in leu of education, combination of education and experience preferred

Experience: 5 plus years of ammonia refrigeration experience preferred, and strong leadership/management abilities, to effectively manage a team and prioritize tasks and train others in a fast pace environment.

Certifications: Refrigerating Engineers and Technicians Association (RETA) certifications in Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO) is preferred.

Computer Skills: Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system or related maintenance programs

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Supervisory: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities

Travel: 1 to 5 trips per year
