A Brief Summary of This Position
Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Skilled Labor position in the Miami, Florida Coatings Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that possesses a good work ethic, positive attitude, and attention to detail.
Essential Functions:
Maintain a safe, clean, and productive working environmentMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout shiftInspect and ensure the safe use and disposition of production fixtures, chains and hooksPull and place chains and ropes around steel bundles for rackingHand wire small to medium-sized parts to racks for pickling or galvanizingLoads and unloads racks and fixtures to maximize weight without compromising qualityAbility to operate pneumatic grinders, pneumatic strappers, acetylene torches, manual strap cutter, banding machineUsing files, grinders and/or wire brushes, removes icicles, etc. so material meets specificationFollows all recycling procedures i.e. recycling of zinc from rack, aluminum, spray cans, wire and dunnageAll other duties as determined by management.Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:
The physical ability to stand and walk duration of shiftMust accept cross-training for multiple positionsMust work well in a team environmentThe ability to work over ten hours a week in overtime when required for business needs the ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issuesMust follow safety rules and report all accidents and near misses to management.High attention to detailExcellent hand and eye coordination with 20/20 corrected visionHighly qualified candidates will also possess:
High School Diploma or GED equivalentSix months of previous experience with hand tools and gauges including impact wrenches, air grinders, drills, taps, oxygen acetylene torches, and mill gaugesSix months of previous experience in a galvanizing, manufacturing, or fabrication environmentBenefits
