Job Title: General Surgeon Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana   Introduction:  Aspen Medical has an exciting opportunity for General Surgeons to partner with us in providing temporary contracted medical services within the Veteran Affairs Healthcare Systems throughout the United States. Today’s posting will place you at the primary location of the Fort Wayne VA Medical Center. This opportunity allows employees to work with the federal government, offering competitive compensation and a strong work-life balance.  Hospital: Fort Wayne VA Medical Center Location:  United States, Fort Wayne, IN Qualifications: Education + Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed Board Certification + Board-certified/postgraduate certified by an appropriate body following the successful completion of specialist training in General Surgery, or equivalent, with a minimum of three (3) years’ progressive post specialist qualification License + Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Must be board-certified to qualify + DEA License Required  + NPI Required  Experience + A minimum of three (3) years of progressive post-qualification clinical experience to include experience in Damage Control Surgery + Minimum of two (2) years of current experience, actively practicing in specialty, post-board certification Certification + Current, Current, valid American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS required Benefits:  + Virtual Interviews + Variable of locations throughout the United States.  + Contract: Year-long assignment  + Hours of Performance: Duty hours will vary by position and location; however, typical duty hours are scheduled between 0700 -1700, Monday through Friday. Hours are subject to change and may include nights and weekends + Detailed pay rates will be outlined in the initial interview phase  Physical Requirements: + Must be able to walk, stand, and bend for 6-8 hours per day + Able to distinguish between basic colors + Must be able to read and interpret handwritten and typewritten print + Ability to communicate effectively with customers in stressful situations + Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation and undergo urine drug testing + Advanced medical and anatomical skills + Knowledge of general surgery practices + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills + Strong motor skills and manual dexterity + Ability to work long and irregular hours + Advanced analytical skills and attention to detail + Ability to remain calm and focused on stressful situations + Organizational and time management skills Aspen Medical is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
