Job Description:    
     The General Utility will have various duties within the mixing, scaling, processing and packaging areas. He/She will have job responsibilities that include bag dumping into minor ingredient bins, make up relief, back filling of all processing positions, pulling ingredient bags for the mixer, removal of waste, and cleaning of equipment. The General Utility is a multi-functional position that will rotate through several different positions within the classification. He/She will neatly and accurately fill out and turn in all necessary paperwork for each assigned position. Responsible for area housekeeping and other duties as assigned by supervisor.   

Job Functions:
1)    Review pertinent information with the previous shift i.e. mechanical issues etc.
2)    Relief or back fill as assigned - Example – Scaler, Mixer, Processing Utility, Molder, Divider, Proofer Operator, Pan Stacker and Packaging Setup
3)    Fill bulk bins for automatic ingredient drops
4)    Move lid and pan carts
5)    Move ingredient containers, bags (50 lbs. per bag), and carts to designated areas
6)    Perform all position specific responsibilities when relieving or back filling
7)    Clean equipment
8)    Remove trash and cardboard as necessary
9)    Neatly and accurately fill out all necessary documentation (Ex. HACCP – CTS)
10)    Maintain a safe neat and clean work area in accordance with GMP and good housekeeping practices 
11)    Communicate with co-workers and supervisors
12)    Follow all JSA guidelines 
13)    May have to train on a different shift for the position.

Work Conditions:
1)    8-12 Hour shift. Will receive 2 fifteen-minute breaks and one-half hour break. Overtime is required.
2)     Environment – Noise levels will be minimal to moderate and temperature will be controlled to hot. Lighting is sufficient. There is a possibility of slippery footing from wet floor areas.

This position will be an interview position, not based on seniority.  Qualification will include Job Knowledge, Disapline, safety and attendance.

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
