Generator Service Technician
**Job Title: Generator Service Technician** **Job Description** The Generator Service Technician will specialize in working on generators and will also deliver, pick up, set up, tear down, and perform maintenance and repair on all rental equipment. Initially, there will be no travel, but after training, travel across the US to service generators will be required. **Responsibilities** + Prepare, inspect, and operate machines prior to delivery. + Load and unload delivery vehicle with scheduled equipment. + Deliver and pick up equipment to/from correct addresses, set up/tear down equipment on job sites, and obtain necessary signatures and proof of receipt. + Explain proper use and care of products to customers. + Retrieve equipment for customers, assist with loading, and restock returned products. + Inspect returned products to ensure they are clean, in good repair, and maintained according to rental agreements. + Identify and tag products needing repair, cleaning, or modification before restocking. + Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the facilities and work area, including company vehicles. + Identify and resolve problems promptly. + Complete paperwork accurately and maintain records of hours worked, accounts serviced, and administrative time. + Determine necessary parts, materials, and supplies for repairs, maintenance, or modifications, and order them as needed. + Remove, disassemble, assemble, and install components and parts. + Perform preventative maintenance tasks, service, and maintain equipment sold and/or owned. + Receive orders from the order desk and retrieve goods from the warehouse. + Check packing list for accuracy and inspect collected goods. + Pack orders for shipment. **Essential Skills** + Troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines. + Ability to read repair manuals and schematic diagrams. + Mechanical aptitude including knowledge of hydraulics, electrical wiring, and machine assembly. + Proficiency with hand and power tools. + Experience in automotive repair and carpentry. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with generator and diesel repair. + Ability to operate material handling equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, skid steers, and forklifts safely. + Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision. + At least one year of experience in replacing and troubleshooting hydraulic systems. **Why Work Here?** Join a family-owned company with significant growth potential and a positive, hard-working culture. The company supplies military bases, music festivals, and provides aid during disaster relief efforts. **Work Environment** The position is for the first shift (7am-3:30pm) with the possibility of 5-10 hours of overtime depending on workload. The work environment includes a large property with three buildings housing offices, warehouses, and a shop for generator work. Employees will work both indoors and outdoors year-round and will need to move between buildings to pick orders. The team consists of approximately 15 rental business employees and 7 technicians, with more in the office. Training will be provided by technicians. The dress code requires steel-toe boots, long pants, and a work shirt. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
