Genetic Counselor

Position Description

The Genetic Counselor provides genetic education, counseling, and psychological support to families who have members with birth defects or genetic disorders, or those who may be at risk for birth defects or genetic disorders. This role identifies families at risk, interprets information about conditions and testing, analyzes inheritance patterns, and reviews available options for families.

Position Requirements

Master's Degree in Genetic Counseling/Human Genetics. 3 years or more of experience in perinatal genetic counseling. American Board eligible for Genetic Counseling Certification.

Preferred Requirements

3-5 years or more of experience in specified field of genetic counseling.
