GENERAL FUNCTION

Reporting to the Tooling Supervisor, you will join a team of four and work with Machine Shop Supervisor and Engineering departments representatives (ME/GE) to determine feasibility and ability to fabricate, modify and design (drawings) of existing and new parts, fixtures and assemblies. You'll help resolve issues with engineering designs, parts, methods and modifications to parts and molds. In addition, you'll program and set up CNC machines, including mills and lathes, using Mastercam and SolidWorks and download these programs into machines using network, discs or thumb drives.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support and engage the Mold PM team members to resolve critical troubleshooting and identification of unserviceable parts. Keep and maintain records electronically Act as a leader for safety. Maintain a safe working environment, not limited to individual responsible areas Analyze the information provide on blueprints or other explanatory documents to make sure the final product matched the draft Assume responsibility for the fabrication and modification of parts, fixtures, tooling and mold components to meet engineering and production standards and needs Inspect new molds and mold components against supplied drawings from GE Assume responsibility for all aspects of fabrication, inspection and finishing or modification of parts, including deburring and packaging for transportation Study and interpret drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements Measure and mark dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as a guide for subsequent machining Maintain daily/weekly/monthly/yearly maintenance as required on the CNC machines Produce quality reports as directed, including tables, charts and visual aids, using Microsoft Office products

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Legal authorization to work permanently in the US for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. Education in advanced machining, programming and safety through a reputable education system/school Advanced knowledge of Mastercam and SolidWorks software and G and M codes. and the ability to download and edit programs in various machine and adjust as needed Knowledge of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments Instruments should include, but are not limited to, calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators and scales Knowledge of reading and modifying drawings and specifications with an intermediate understanding of geometric tolerance and dimensions Advanced knowledge of CNC machinery, including basic maintenance and troubleshooting of the equipment

You will need:

Knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various machines Knowledge of working with various raw materials and adjusting the speeds, feeds accordingly. The ability to: Follow written and oral instructions Safely lift 50 pounds, and use manual lifts, hoists and clamping systems Strong oral and written communication skills

You will work from 6:30 AM to 3 PM Monday through Friday, although we'll also look to you to be flexible. Overtime, including Saturday mornings, is available but not mandatory.

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
