We are seeking a **Geo Engineer 2 (Geotechnical Engineer)** to join our Boise, ID team! Come join us!
**Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:**
+ Effectively manage projects, resources, and staff while providing expert technical guidance in geotechnical engineering across diverse projects — in both public and private sectors — and ensure strict adherence to applicable guidelines.
+ Perform geotechnical design, investigation, and analysis for buildings and infrastructure projects, including residential/commercial buildings, bridges, highways, railways, and airports, pipelines.
+ Direct and supervise subsurface explorations, laboratory testing, and geotechnical data interpretation to ensure a high-quality, timely, and within-budget delivery of the projects.
+ Perform geotechnical design and analysis for shallow and deep foundations, slope stability analyses, lateral earth pressure calculations, and other pertinent analyses in support of a wide range of projects in public and private sectors.
+ Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and governmental personnel, ensuring that all geotechnical concerns are addressed comprehensively.
+ Mentor and train junior geotechnical engineers and foster their professional development.
+ Play an active role in professional associations.
**Minimum requirements:**
+ A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering suffices
+ Minimum 4 years of experience in geotechnical engineering practice with an emphasis on geotechnical design and analysis, geotechnical field investigation, and construction supervision.
+ The successful candidate should be a licensed Professional Engineer or on track to get their license in the next year.
+ Local experience and familiarity with the local engineering practice.
**Technical requirements:**
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working.
+ Geotechnical background including fundamental knowledge of principles of geotechnical engineering, soil and rock mechanics, pavement engineering, and groundwater hydrology.
+ Experience in construction oversight for foundation and pavement construction and earthwork observation.
+ Experience with geotechnical engineering software; we would rather you were well-versed in a few than only-sort-of-acquainted with many.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead small to medium-scale geotechnical projects and manage field geologists and engineers.
**Other miscellaneous qualities:**
+ Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
+ Must be able to pass a background check.
+ Limited travel to areas surrounding the Tri-Cities area.
