Join Michigan Department of Treasury’s Michigan Infrastructure Council (MIC) as a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Intern and dive into the world of spatial analysis and mapping. Treasury student internships are paid, typically hybrid opportunities, located in Michigan, and designed to provide undergraduate and graduate students with work experience and direct exposure to career opportunities in public service. Internships at Treasury will give students an opportunity for:

Civil Service Regulation 3.02 authorizes student assistants to work up to 29 hours a week with a maximum of 129 hours in a calendar month. The work schedule for each semester will be determined and agreed upon by the supervisor and the student.
For our purposes, "official college transcripts" must contain the college/university name and address, the degree conferred, and date granted, coursework completed (especially if no degree granted), and the Registrar's signature and/or seal. This position is eligible to work remotely on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and must work onsite Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Selected candidate must have a safe and appropriate designated workspace or workstation for performance of work and secure and sufficient internet access of commercial cable or wireless broadband with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload. Work must be performed in the state of Michigan. If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position. Relocation expenses are not reimbursed.
The Michigan Department of Treasury participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S.
Interviews will likely occur virtually using Microsoft Teams. No prior experience with Teams is necessary, as instructions and tips will be provided to all candidates scheduled for an interview.
