GEOINT Processing EngineerKBR is seeking a highly qualified GEOINT Processing Engineer to provide Systems Engineer Technical Advisor (SETA) support for the Mission Operations Directorate (MOD). MOD operates, maintains, and reports the status of intelligence satellites and their associated ground systems, and manages the 24-hour Operations Center which, working with U.S Strategic Command, provides defensive space control and space protection, monitors satellite flight safety, and provides space situational awareness.
As a Senior GEOINT Processing Engineer, you will support our customer in Springfield, VA delivering mission-critical capabilities that enable them plan and execute intelligence-gathering missions from overhead systems and process the resulting collected data into useful information distributed to IC and DoD users.
Perform engineering analysis to ensure program successfully develop and deliver core mission processing services in all phases of the acquisition life-cycleOperate the equipment necessary to capture, process, distribute, and archive imagery dataPerform day-to-day near real-time checks to determine how well processing tools techniques and procedures are performingRecognize and correctly identify GEOINT imagery artifacts and anomalies; perform root cause imagery analysis and mitigate those artifacts and anomaliesProvide processing operations inputs to Systems Engineering activities, contributing to the stability of processing operations system baselineIdentify impacts to processing operations associated with Request for ChangesRetain cognizance of wide variety of mission projects including technical baseline, project schedules and dependencies, cost and risksConduct planning for both mission architecture needs (technical trade studies, definition of future architecture planning, software services recommendations, etc.)Participate in industry-standard agile software development processes to include Epic, Feature and Capability definition, prioritization and executionProvide independent verification/validation/test in support of delivered system capabilities and mission closureSupport and lead working groups on Product definition, Interface definition, Mission CONOPS, technical implementation of new mission products in existing GEOINT BaselineProvide oversight and technical Mission frameworkRequired Qualifications
Active TS/SCI with CI polygraph
B.S. in engineering, physics, or related technical degree with at least 5 years’ experience with space/ground aerospace systems engineering
Knowledge of Commercial Cloud Services (C2S) or analogous Cloud Environment implementation
Working knowledge of GEOINT Mission Processing with focus on GEOINT product definition and generation
Integration, Verification, Validation and Test experience (IVV&T)
Experience with Mission Processing Systems in support of space and ground architecture
Experience identifying user & enterprise needs/requirements and gap identification, analysis and assessment
Experience in supporting Requirements Engineering, CONOPS development, and system integration to accommodate the End to End GEOINT Systems Engineering
Experience in Scaled Agile Frameworks for Enterprise (SAFE) agile software development and Dev-Sec-OPS concepts, processes and production,
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in engineering, physics, or related technical degree with at least 10 year’s experience
Familiarity with specific IC customer, technical familiarity with mission processing or mission control of one or more GEOINT systems, SAR and FSG experience highly desired
Familiarity with that customer’s processes and organization
Experience in Acquisition to include cross-program budgeting, resource allocation, Earned Value Management (EVM) and cost analysis
