Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Geologist to join our team for project located in Columbus, OH. The role involves performing fieldwork such as soil, soil gas, surface water, air monitoring, and groundwater sampling. You will be involved in drilling and contractor oversight, remediation treatment system operation and maintenance, soil boring logging, monitoring well installation, aquifer testing, and groundwater monitoring. You will also prepare soil boring and well construction logs, evaluate chemical and hydrogeological data, and manage data analysis and database tasks using AutoCAD and GIS applications.

ResponsibilitiesConduct fieldwork including soil, soil gas, surface water, air monitoring, and groundwater sampling.Oversee drilling and contractor activities.Operate and maintain remediation treatment systems.Log soil borings and install monitoring wells.Perform aquifer testing and groundwater monitoring.Prepare soil boring and well construction logs.Evaluate chemical and hydrogeological data, including mapping and reporting.Analyze data and manage databases, preparing tables, maps, and figures using AutoCAD and GIS applications.Design and implement sampling plans, pilot test designs, and bench scale testing programs for contamination assessment.Perform remediation system operation and maintenance services.Conduct remedy evaluation, cost estimating, design, and implementation.Support Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Transaction Screening Assessments.Assist in the development of proposals and other business development activities.Essential SkillsSoil samplingGroundwater samplingRemediationEnvironmental remediationGeologyEnvironmental scienceGeotechnical drillingEnvironmental engineeringReport writingCurrent OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshersExperience with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and/or GISAbility to work in the field and occasionally overnight travelValid driver's license and reliable means of transportationAdditional Skills & QualificationsBS in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or Geology (Geology preferred)2-3 years of remediation experienceExperience with soil boring, groundwater sampling, and report writingAbility to obtain professional certification (P.E., P.G., or CHMM)Work Environment

This position involves working with an environmental team that provides assessment and remediation services for retail, commercial, industrial, aerospace, and government projects. The role requires approximately 70% fieldwork, with project lengths and time in the field varying from 1-3 weeks. Project location: Columbus, OH

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $35.00
