Geophysical Field Technician

Typical tasks may include equipment calibration and troubleshooting, data acquisition, in-field processing, and report preparation. Strong interpersonal skills are a must, including the ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both written and verbally, to all project team members. **What you can expect from APTIM:** + Work that is worthy of your time and talent + Respect and flexibility to live a full life at work and at home + Dogged determination to deliver for our clients and communities + A voice in making our company better + Investment into your personal and professional development **Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:** + Work collaboratively with Sr. Geophysicists on proposals; provide input on survey design and scope development. + Field data acquisition utilizing various geophysical sensors including Metal-Mapper, APEX, UltraTEM, EM61, GPR and Magnetometers. + Integration of geophysical sensors with positioning control systems including RTK GPS and SLAM. + Assist with Site Logistics such as establishing field office and storage locations, test locations, and routes to work areas. + Equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and testing. + Ensures conformance to applicable codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures + Applies education, knowledge, and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations + Perform all assigned tasks in strict accordance with APTIM Safety Policies and Procedures + Frequently support projects that require overnight travel of variable duration. **Basic Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Geophysics or related field with 1-3 years' experience or Graduate of a DoD-approved UXO training course with minimum 5 years' relevant experience. + Experience in Advanced Geophysical Classification (AGC) data acquisition and familiarity with data processing software (e.g., Oasis Montaj) a plus. + Valid Driver's License with Clean Driving Record required. + Possess or have ability to readily obtain OSHA HAZWOPER certification. + Ability to perform physically demanding work in all types of terrain and weather, including wearing of proper PPE for work on hazardous waste sites. + Amenable to frequent travel, including weekends, to meet project deadlines. **Who we are and what we do:** APTIM is a global industry leader headquartered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
