We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position ofGeophysicist within ourGulf of Mexico group based in The Woodlands, TX.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Candidates will be responsible for geophysical interpretation, mapping, prospect generation, and regional geological and geophysical studies. We require self-starters who can integrate seamlessly into the current exploration team organization, interpret high-quality 3D marine seismic datasets, generate new prospects, and mature prospects to drill-ready in the current inventory.

· Interpretation-oriented geophysicist with experience in seismic interpretation at basin, play, prospect, and field levels.

· Experience with 2D and 3D interpretation in both high-density and sparse data environments.

· Skilled in geological interpretation of seismic data including complex structural settings.

· Experience or willingness to learn quantitative prospect and play evaluation using Rose based methods.

· A working understanding of seismic acquisition and processing and its impact on data confidence and the interpretation process.

· Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently and meet critical deadlines.

· Creative thinker with a desire to challenge the status quo and conventional thinking with the ability to implement new ideas, processes and technologies.

· Team player with strong interpersonal skills and experience in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

· Possess analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with incomplete information.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex material effectively.

· Depending on the candidates’ years of experience, a willingness and ability to mentor and develop early-career staff.

· Skills in quantitative geophysical interpretation

· Experience in well planning and drilling operations

· Prior work on complex structures and salt tectonics

· Understanding of GOM regulatory processes and permitting

· Understanding of petrophysical interpretation and modeling

· Experience using Landmark/OpenWorks, Decision Space, Hampson Russell, and GOM databases (OWL, GOMSMART, etc.).

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Geophysics or Geoscience or related discipline is required Master's and/or PhD degree in Geophysics or Geoscience or related discipline is preferredMinimum of 10 years of Geophysics experience focused on petroleum exploration and field development
