Geoprocessing Product Engineer II
Overview

Come join the geoprocessing development team as we work to support a framework and comprehensive suite of 2,000+ geoprocessing tools in ArcGIS Pro. We’re looking for a new team member to help with tasks related to testing data packaging and extraction workflows, Python scripting, data format conversion, and more. You will coordinate cross-product requirements between development teams, respond to user requirements by entering bugs, features, and enhancement issues for developers to work on, and test software functionality to ensure it is high quality and performant. We need a communicative person with great attention to detail and critical thinking skills to work with us. As a valued member of our team you will help build software used by thousands of organizations around the world to analyze, manage, and share their data!

Responsibilities

Collaborate with teammates to build spatial data processing software that is user-friendly, has good performance, and produces correct results (or meaningful errors) Coordinate requirements from multiple internal and external sources to the development team and help make decisions about how to address these requirements Troubleshoot issues related data packaging and extraction workflows, geoprocessing tools, and Python scripts in current and past software versions Maintain, design, and write test cases in Python for geoprocessing tools and related functionality, to ensure quality and performance Execute both manual and automated test cases and analyze test results to determine pass/fail status, reporting results in a timely and consistent manner Write clear and concise help documentation topics that allows users to understand complex software capabilities and troubleshoot potential problems Create compelling blogs, videos, samples, and other content that illustrate new capabilities built by the team Requirements

Familiarity with geoprocessing capabilities in ArcGIS, expressed through a portfolio, website, or other description of related work and projects 2+ years of professional experience writing Python code Verbal and written communication skills suitable for a professional environment Confidently present ArcGIS functionality in-person and online to groups of colleagues or the user community Run virtual and in-person coordination meetings with Esri stakeholders Think critically about alternative approaches and select the best one Manage multiple priorities and multitask as needed in a fast-paced agile software development environment Self-motivated and inquisitive, able to find answers independently, but willing to ask questions when needed Bachelor's degree in GIS or a related field Recommended Qualifications

Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise and Server, and publishing services, and sharing content from ArcGIS Pro Project management knowledge or experience Master's degree in GIS or a related field
