Position Summary: JMT is currently seeking a full time Senior Geotechnical Engineer for our headquarters office in Hunt Valley, MD. Project types will include a wide variety of high-profile projects including, highways, bridges, aviation, rail & transit, marine and ports, water and wastewater, and buildings and facilities. Notable projects include Long Bridge North, I-95 ETL Lanes, Harry W Nice/Thomas “Mac” Middelton Bridge Replacement. and Alexandria Waterfront Improvements.
Compensation is $85,000. - $92,000. annually, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Responsible for management and oversight of geotechnical investigations Development and implementation of subsurface investigation programs consisting of test borings, cone penetrometer, dilatometer and geophysical surveys Perform engineering analysis of soils and rock, for design of shallow and deep foundation systems, slope stability, excavations, permanent and temporary retaining systems, dewatering systems and soil improvement Assist in preparation of geotechnical reports and memoranda Assist in preparation of construction documents including plans, specifications, and cost estimates Conduct and manage on-site geotechnical inspection and engineering services during construction
