Description: + Supporting the conceptual design, permitting, final design, and construction of geoenvironmental remediation systems (cutoff walls, barriers, closures and caps, groundwater management systems, etc) for industrial waste impoundments and contaminated sites. + Supporting the assessment of dam safety and management practices + Performing construction quantity takeoffs and cost estimating + Working with experienced company engineering and CAD staff to develop engineering drawings, technical specifications, and CQA plans + Performing geotechnical calculations including seepage, slope stability, seismic and liquefaction assessments, settlement analyses, etc. + Writing reports, technical memoranda, and other documents for review by experienced staff + Acting as the Technical Task Manager by independently leading tasks within a larger project team, under the direction of the company project manager. + Leading field investigation programs (i.e., borings, sampling, laboratory testing) + Implementing company safety and quality management systems + Providing construction oversight and/or management services + 10-20% travel is expected Skills: + Geotechnical engineering + Geotechnical analysis + geotechnical calculations + subsurface investigation + cadd + Professional engineer + Environmental compliance + Remediation + Environmental monitoring + mining, coal, dam safety Additional Skills & Qualifications: + Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Geological Engineering and 3+ years of relevant experience focused in geotechnical, geoenvironmental, and civil engineering + MS Degree and engineering design and cost estimating experience a plus. + Registered PE (MO and IL, or licensure in another U.S. state with the ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months) Minimum Skills and Abilities: + Geotechnical calculations, including seepage and slope stability + Independent report writing for review by experienced staff + Ability to support the development of civil and geoenvironmental design projects + Ability to lead field subsurface investigation programs + Ability to work semi-independently with limited, but regular, oversight from experienced staff Preferred Skills and Abilities: + CAD(D) design experience, CCR experience, mining experience, and dam safety experience a plus, but not required Experience Level: Expert Level About Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
