Step into Your New Role
Kleinfelder is seeking a Geotechnical Transportation Project Manager with experience in Alternative Delivery methods for interstate and highway roadway projects to be part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team in our Salt Lake City, Utah office. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on major transportation projects and mentor our team of Geotechnical/Civil engineers and other professionals. This is an opportunity for a talented individual who is inspired to promote and support the growth of our Transportation Market within our well established and growing firm. Candidates should have a minimum of 15 plus years’ experience in civil engineering and 10 plus years of experience with Alternative Delivery Projects (Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, and CM/GC). This candidate will work with a team of professionals with varied engineering backgrounds who collaborate to deliver a wide range of projects for high-priority clients in Utah and the surrounding States on dynamic infrastructure, and transportation projects.
Responsibilities will include:
Manage all phases of project execution including project organization, subconsultants management, scheduling, financial management, health and safety stewardship, and reporting.Mentor and engage with staffLead and participate in technical, cost, and scheduling decisions for interdisciplinary teams ensuring company quality standards and driving client valueCollaborate and manage with structural/bridge, environmental, civil design, survey, traffic professionals, and other designers to complete project deliverablesLead and participate in technical, cost, and scheduling decisions for interdisciplinary teams ensuring company quality standards and driving customer valueOversee pursuits, designate the appropriate resources to projects, define client needs, address client concerns, and manage engineering resources within budget
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Project experience in leading multi-disciplinary design, and construction monitoring/instrumentation projects in the Transportation MarketAlternative Delivery management experienceExperience with detailed civil and geotechnical design for State Departments of Transportation and municipalities.Ability to assess and resolve issues and conflicts internally and externally.Follow internal and project specific quality control and risk management protocols Work well managing virtual teams and willingly works with the appropriate resources regardless of locationWork with national in-house group of civil and geotechnical engineers to support the growth in cutting edge innovation, learning, work sharing and resourcing
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering15+ years’ experience in the design and preparation of engineering recommendations for Interstate and Highway projects10+ years’ experience in Alternative Delivery projects with State Departments of Transportation and municipalitiesA passion to meet client objectives and goals, technical challenges, and mentoring other design professionalsRegistration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in UTStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environmentUnderstand and be familiar with AASHTO and the Utah Department of Transportation Design Guidelines and Standard
