Geothermal Engineer- REMOTE
Position: Project Manager Job Location: New York, NY Expire Date: Description: Job Description: We are seeking an enthusiastic, engaged engineer who can complement our existing practices and capabilities to support our growing engineering staff. Candidates will have a degree/advanced degree in environmental or civil engineering with 5 to 7 years of experience. You will independently manage aspects of multiple or large projects from a technical/administrative aspect and train and mentor junior technical staff. Responsibilities + Be knowledgeable with geothermal engineering principals including ground source heat exchange, standing column wells, open loop geothermal wells, and closed loop geothermal wells. + Establish and manage project teams, identify, and use company resources to obtain proper technical expertise to address specific issues on a project. + Client development/maintain existing relationships. Communicate project objectives and firm's overall capabilities, as well as the value of the firm to current clients and potential new clients. + Provide clients with high quality projects on time and on budget, meeting the client's expectations. Communicate project status and potential issues, both internally and externally, with clients professionally. + Proficient in the development of letter proposals, scope of work budgets, change orders, and schedules. + Communication should focus on networking, project information, and accounts receivable information to their supervisor. + Prepare final plans/technical reports for client and regulatory submissions. + Manage billable and administrative responsibilities and backlog to meet utilization goals. + Be able to effectively work remotely with staff in other offices as needed. + Coordinate Quality Assurance/Quality Control of key deliverables and assisting on projects managed by others. Qualifications- Education: + Bachelors degree in environmental / civil engineering or closely related discipline + 4-year Engineering Technology Degree. + Professional Engineer License (PE) - Optional Experience + 5+ years of experience KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:Effective technical writing skills. MS Office, HydroCad, AutoCad, and Civil 3D. Familiarity with GLDs for geothermal heat pump and ground heat exchanger system design. Strong ability to effectively communicate technical information to all types of people, both verbally and in writing; multitask and coordinate confusing and often conflicting priorities; strong communication, decision-making, analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
