Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):
Maintain, repair, and replace compressors, pumps, gas hot water heaters, boilers, and gas kitchen equipment.*
Troubleshoot and repair control circuits.*
Maintain knowledge and operation of food equipment, sanitary drain systems, potable and non-potable water systems, and sump pumps.
Install equipment from plumbing prints.*
Assist with any aspect of the Giant Center group operation as required including, but not limited to, building changeovers.*
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years or older
Must have a valid driver’s license
High school diploma or equivalent.
Three (3) years of verifiable work experience with HVAC equipment including compressors, condensers, RTU’s, centrifugal chillers, etc.
Ability to successfully pass (70%) a trade aptitude test.
Be universal refrigerant certified or must obtain certification by the conclusion of probationary period or agreed upon date.
Obtain a certification in ammonia refrigeration systems and other certifications as required within 7 months of hire date or agreed upon date.
This position requires successful completion and passing of the post-offer employment physical exam.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of material estimating, centralized systems, and Facility Management System.
Demonstrate strong communication skills and a teamwork approach to work.
Ability to work with minimal direction and supervision.
Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
Job Demands:
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Must be able to work at heights in excess of 100 feet in very close surroundings.
Must be available for on-call as required.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Work with chemicals.
Must be able to supply own hand tools.
This is a union position and the work schedule will be based on union seniority. Candidates must be able to meet scheduled requirements, which will most likely require evening and weekend hours.
