4 Year Degree The Lovett School, a K-12 independent school in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Girls Volleyball Program Head / Student-Athlete Success Coordinator to start on July 1, 2025. The ideal candidate will share the school's commitment to whole child development and the cultivation of core values through athletics. The role will involve overseeing the volleyball program while ensuring student-athlete success. Coaches a second sport as a head or assistant coach on the varsity, JV or middle school level in the spring athletic season or is a game day manager for the winter or spring season.Reports to: Director of Athletics and Physical Education
Primary Responsibilities: Oversees the creation and implementation of a holistic girls’ volleyball program across all levels (Middle School, JV, Varsity), fostering a healthy, competitive culture aligned with Lovett’s mission, values, strategic plan, and whole child experience. Provides leadership and mentorship to coaches across all program tiers, ensuring a unified coaching team and consistency in approach through regular feedback and evaluation. Plans and designs developmentally appropriate practices focusing on skill development, strategy, and teamwork for all levels. Oversees and manages the assessment and selection process for all players across every team, developing a structured rubric for providing feedback to players and teams. Seeks out and participates in professional development opportunities aimed at strengthening the abilities of the coaching staff and advancing personal expertise as a volleyball coach and or leader within education-based sports. Establishes a supportive and welcoming team environment that emphasizes fairness, respect, and individual development across all tiers. Cultivates meaningful and positive connections with student-athletes, as well as the broader school community, at every level. Organizes and oversees the planning of games, practices, tournaments, and additional events for all program levels. Coordinates and supervises youth clinics, summer camps, and developmental initiatives aimed at enhancing the program's talent pool and community engagement. Guides and supports student-athletes pursuing collegiate or professional volleyball careers by navigating the recruitment process, offering resources on academic eligibility, and providing exposure through showcases, camps, and tournaments. Establishes connections with college scouts, coaches, and youth club organizations to advocate for student-athletes, enhancing their visibility and opportunities for advancement. Maintains current knowledge of NCAA and NAIA regulations to offer accurate advice on recruitment and eligibility, ensuring compliance and informed decision-making. Ensures the girls’ volleyball program adheres to Georgia High School Association (GHSA) regulations by maintaining up-to-date compliance, accurately recording eligibility and schedules, and coordinating with the athletic department for document submissions. Actively participates in GHSA meetings and training to stay informed, while also educating the program's community on the importance of sportsmanship and ethical play according to GHSA standards. Oversees the volleyball program's operations, ensuring adherence to the allocated budget. Coaches a second sport as a head or assistant coach on the varsity, JV or middle school level in the spring athletic season or is a game day manager for the winter or spring season Co-leads the student athletic advisory committee Collaborate on professional development opportunities for athletic coaches Helps manages the college athletic recruitment process for student-athletes with varsity coaches Coordinates the athletic guest speakers for students and coaches Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Must be a current full-time employee or actively pursuing employment as a faculty or staff member at The Lovett School.
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
At least five (3-5) years of volleyball coaching experience, with a strong preference for candidates with head coaching experience.
Deep understanding of the way unconscious bias impacts the workplace.
Demonstrated ability to develop volleyball programs and build meaningful relationships with players.
Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.
Outstanding organizational, management, and motivational skills.
Drive a 14-passenger bus.
Knowledge of GHSA rules and regulations. CPR and First Aid Certified - preferred.
