Job Description
We are seeking a skilled GIS Analyst to complete engineering designs and cost estimates using GIS for various main and service work. The ideal candidate will collect construction activity 'as-built' using mobile CPS collection devices in the field to create permanent asset records, edit map features and their corresponding attribute data in the GIS, and perform final quality checks of GIS versioned data before it is posted. Additionally, the candidate will represent Engineering at internal and external project meetings, conduct field visits to job sites to determine requirements for service and main work, and implement and train Engineering staff on new GIS mapping system processes.
ResponsibilitiesComplete engineering designs and cost estimates using GIS for all types of main and service work.Collect construction activity 'as-built' using mobile CPS collection devices in the field for creating permanent asset records.Edit map features and their correlating attribute data in the GIS.Perform final quality checks of GIS versioned data before it is posted to the GIS.Represent Engineering at internal and external project meetings as required.Conduct field visits to job sites to determine requirements for service and main work.Perform preliminary review of development plans and interface with customers.Implement and train Engineering staff on new work processes for the GIS mapping system.Distribute and update maps for other departments as requested.Distribute and approve requests for the acquisition and release of easements as well as the vacation of rights-of-way.Perform pipeline safety compliance-related GIS analysis as directed.Essential SkillsProficiency in GIS, AutoCAD, Geopak, and CAD design.Basic understanding of ESRI software.Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Geoscience, Cartography, GIS or a related field.Valid driver's license.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to lead by example in support of the Company's essential characteristics and values, including strong ethics and integrity, dedication to a safe work environment, and commitment to a diverse workforce that recognizes and respects every individual's unique skills and perspectives.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Adaptability in a fast-moving and changing culture.Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build and establish rapport with a diverse array of people.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet individual goals and deadlines.Ability to work as part of a team and display a positive attitude.Work Environment
This role is based out of the Kansas City Central Office and involves working in the St. Joe area. Work can be performed in an office and/or field setting where exposure to the elements may occur. Typical working hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. Overtime and/or travel may be required.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00
