GIS Analyst
Description • Extensive knowledge of, and experience with geospatial software, including but not limited to, Esri’s ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, ArcGIS Online/Portal, and other products. • Extensive knowledge of, and experience with other software programs, including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation programs. • Extensive knowledge of, and experience with GIS basics, methodology, best practices, and industry standards. • Extensive knowledge of, and experience with, preparing and interpreting various GIS products for production level quality, including but not limited to, exhibits, web maps, and both physical and digital maps for various purposes, audiences, and formats. • Knowledge of and experience with interpreting engineering drawings and assessing their related influence on facilities and properties. • Knowledge of and experience with local, state, and federal right-of-way, environmental, and land use authorizations. • Attention to detail in preparing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines. • Ability to work both individually and within a team environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Position-Related Responsibilities • Provides geospatial research and support for right-of-way, environmental, and land use planning and authorizations. • Works with Land Resources GIS staff and other business areas to acquire, create, and maintain data layers. • Performs GIS data quality control, including reviewing data for completeness and accuracy, and identifying and correcting errors or omissions. • Digitizes, manipulates, converts, prepares, packages, and publishes GIS data available from internal and/or external sources for production use and geospatial database management. • Analyzes data to identify or forecast patterns, anomalies, or process efficiencies. • Prepares maps and other exhibits for internal and external use. • Assists Land GIS team with mapping and management of Client land rights and supporting the GIS integration into the LandWorks Property Management (LPM) system. • Assists in training of various aspects of GIS software and use, along with supporting documentation for both internal and external users. • Provides technical guidance on best GIS practices and responds to general geospatial questions. • Maintains independent GIS deliverable schedules in association with related assigned project schedule. • Identifies problems experienced with the use of GIS and related software, and works with the IT support team to implement solutions. • Maintains business relationships with internal departments, jurisdictions, regulators, and other key stakeholders on behalf of the company. • Leads formal and informal meetings concerning assigned projects. Works across departments to identify project needs and requirements. • All other GIS duties and tasks requested or assigned. • Provides services to all Client affiliates subject to the Client Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures. • This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the Client Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
