Your OpportunityAs a GIS Analyst with Stantec you will provide technical support which includes mapping applications, spatial analysis, and map production; as well as provide support for assigned projects.
Your Key Responsibilities Uses geospatial data to complete tasks using knowledge of Geographical Information Systems. Inputs data into relevant software programs. Assists team in creating basic aerial and mapping exhibits. Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. Apply GIS concepts and spatial data. Apply ESRI concepts and spatial data. Perform data editing, digitizing, scanning and conversion. Develop maps and other cartographic products. Work in diverse work and team environments. Work outside the typical office environment (e.g. GPS data collection) as needed. Provide on-site GIS support at client or other Stantec offices as needed. Work on Windows operating system (Word, Access, Excel). Overnight travel may be required. Your Capabilities and Credentials Basic understanding of general concepts of Geographical Information Systems. Knowledge of GIS Platforms, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD and ESRI software suite including ArcGIS. Developing skills utilizing relevant geographic software programs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Developing cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team. Shows the ability to enter data quickly, correctly and efficiently. Understands how to convert data from older sources such as maps and books into digital formats. Understands how to create and edit metadata.Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in GIS or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Co-op / internship experience preferred.
Position will work in both a field and office setting.
