Woolpert is hiring a GIS Applications Developer (Developer IV) to join our dynamic Department of the Air Force (DAF) GeoBase Operations team based in San Antonio, Texas. This is an on-site role with a schedule of 4 days working at the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) on Lackland Air Force Base and 1 day working remotely. This position reports to the GeoBase Operations Team Leader and is responsible for on automation of complex GIS data processing tasks using Python, JavaScript, and HTML. Developer will build solutions utilizing Esri Model Builder and Experience Builder to meet user requirements for the Air Force’s geospatial enterprise system.
Responsibilities
As a GIS Applications Developer (Developer IV) at Woolpert, you will:
Develop custom applications, web services and enterprise solutions using Python, JavaScript, and HTMLDevelop tools and scripts to automate complex data processing tasks and routine geoprocessing operations for the Air Force geospatial enterprise systemSupport and troubleshoot GIS software, script, and tool performanceUpgrade and migrate existing GIS applications and services to new versionsEnable existing GIS editing and mapping application functionality for mission partners and stakeholders such as utilities, emergency response, and environmentalAssist in the development of GeoBase data models and GIS data QA/QC processes according to Air Force and DoD standardsProvide end user support and training on ArcGIS applications and Air Force enterprise capabilities
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
US citizenshipMinimum of two (2) to four (4) years of application development experienceActive Tier 1 (National Agency Check and Inquiries) investigation, security clearance, or the ability to pass a Tier 1 NACI investigationWillingness to undergo a pre-employment background verification and drug screeningExtensive knowledge of Esri ArcGIS software suite: ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcMap, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS OnlineExperience with Python, ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, Esri ModelBuilder or Experience BuilderExpertise using Python and/or JavaScript and HTML with Oracle or other database systems. Experience with database procedures, functions, and triggers using Oracle PL/SQL, MS SQL Server T-SQL, or PostGreSQL PL/pgSQLTwo (2) years of experience in a role requiring:Experience providing effective and creative geospatial solutions based on technical and client requirementsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on client and team member engagementProven experience providing excellent customer serviceStrong technical proficiency using Microsoft Office productsAttention to detail - proven experience meeting data quality assurance and accuracy standardsStrong organizational, time management and analytical skillsAbility to work independently, collaboratively as part of a team, and as a member of a large organizationAbility to offer constructive feedback and problem solving, as well as clear direction to support goalsPreferred Qualifications
Experience creating and implementing solutions for DoD or other enterprise geospatial data and systemsExperience integrating ArcGIS API for Python and/or JavaScript and HTML with popular machine learning modulesExperience working and deploying applications in a cloud environment such as AWS or AzureExperience with Machine Learning (ML) technologies such as Azure ML, Databricks, or similarExperience with Big Data technologies such as Apache Hive, Spark, Hadoop, or similarExperience with Microsoft Power Platform components such as Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, and Dynamics 365Experience with mobile platforms especially Esri iOS and Android SDKsExperience with the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) GIS data standard or other defined spatial data modelExperience with relational databases, database management software, or SQLExperience with Agile project management methodology using Atlassian (Jira, Confluence) or similar platforms
