Role Description

As part of our Environmental team, you’ll help improve quality of life. With your specialism in environmental management, or your technical or sustainability expertise, your work could involve protected species, pollution, surface water and materials management, air quality or noise. And in some of the world’s busiest and most beautiful locations.

The role sits within our Resilience Global Business Area. We work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. Around the world, we’re feeling the effects climate change, rapid urbanization, loss of biodiversity. The rate at which we’re seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires, is becoming more frequent. We are here to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations.

Role Accountabilities

Working with the Senior GIS Consultant to manage spatial and spatial information in accordance with industry standards Ensuring that information management and quality assurance procedures are followed to ensure compliance with Arcadis standards and procedures Production of hardcopy maps and figures to appropriate standards using Arcadis standard templates Production of spatial and aspatial data ensuring accuracy and logical consistency in processing and output Maintain knowledge of GIS industry practices and software Production of web map Portal and field data collection applications Validation and verifications of calculations and mapping products Engaging in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your manager or Arcadis Ensuring you are familiar and compliant with Health and Safety regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience

Successful completion of a degree or relevant technical qualification from a recognised Tertiary Institution Working towards being a registered or accredited professional in your area of experience (where available) Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in GIS and excellent understanding of ESRI GIS software Exposure to CAD technology and techniques preferable Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to identify innovative solutions to problems Ability to organise and prioritise oneself Ability to work well within a team environment Ability to apply GIS processes and technology to tasks arising from infrastructure projects in an innovative way.
