Osmose Utility Services a leader in utility infrastructure is currently seeking an experienced GIS Architect. This in office position will be based out of our downtown headquarters in Atlanta, GA. Leading the design and development of our enterprise data lake and architect a scalable, GIS-driven data infrastructure. This role is crucial in modernizing our data architecture to support geospatial analytics, business intelligence, and operational insights.
The ideal candidate will provide architectural leadership/guidance and play a highly important role in building technology platform solutions that will support our growing business. This position reports directly to the CIO.
Responsibilities
+ GIS Data Architecture: Design and implement a scalable, efficient data architecture integrating GIS systems, particularly ESRI geodatabases, within our Snowflake-powered enterprise data lake.
+ Geospatial Data Management: Develop, document, and optimize data pipelines for geospatial data, including spatial data models, GIS feature services, and metadata management.
+ Architectural Documentation: Document both current and future-state data architecture, incorporating GIS components, people, processes, and technology stacks.
+ Collaboration & Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to translate business needs into robust, scalable, and geospatially-aware data solutions.
+ Data Governance & Security: Ensure the integrity, availability, and security of geospatial and tabular data, ensuring compliance with data governance, privacy, and security policies.
+ GIS Technology Integration: Lead the evaluation and integration of GIS data management technologies (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS, Snowflake Geospatial, LiDAR) and software engineering tools for spatial data processing.
+ GIS & Data Analytics: Support the creation of geospatial analytics layers and models, leveraging tools like ESRI's ArcGIS and Power BI.
REQUIREMENTS:
+ BS in computer science, computer technology, engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience along with a minimum of seven (7) years similar experience including demonstrated experience in data analytics, data presentation, and data architecture.
+ Proven experience as a Data Architect, GIS Data Specialist, or a similar role in a data and GIS-intensive environment.
+ Strong expertise in ESRI technologies (ArcGIS), geodatabases, and spatial data management best practices.
+ Experience with Snowflake and related cloud platforms, including administration, scaling, and performance optimization for spatial and non-spatial data.
+ Strong background in data modeling (including spatial data models), data warehousing, and ETL pipelines.
+ Familiarity with migrating legacy systems, including GIS systems, to modern cloud-based platforms.
+ Understanding of field-based data systems and reporting tools with the ability to integrate spatial data into enterprise analytics.
+ Experience working with LiDAR, image data, and large-scale geospatial datasets.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills, capable of working independently and in cross-functional teams.
+ Strong communication skills with the ability to discuss technical GIS concepts with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
