Job Description

As a student intern with our Applied Technology team, you will perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you understand how an engineering firm uses GIS in various markets and disciplines. You’ll be part of a team, working with a variety of programs including, but not limited to ArcGIS products and AutoCAD. You’ll get an introduction to Olsson's culture that will help you evaluate our firm as a career choice. You'll utilize internal and external data resources to create maps, analyze data using geoprocessing tools and overlay data based upon project needs.

Strong communication skillsAbility to contribute and work well on a teamPursuing a degree in GIS At least one to two years of completed GIS college courseworkProficiency with ArcGIS softwareExperience with Microsoft 365 productsSome knowledge of coding language (ArcPy, Python, Arcade) preferredFamiliarity with standard cartographic methods, theories, and principlesFamiliarity with coordinate systems, map projections, datum’s, standard cartographic methods, theories and principlesStrong attention to detail
