Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to support the Sales organization and its customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions. Each day, you will serve as a key technical resource in the assigned area. You will also showcase your expertise by preparing technical descriptions for the applied products and technology.The work model for the role is: hybridThis role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions division in North America.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tFirst point of contact for technical assistance during project execution of GIS products.•\tUnderstand the factories’ engineering, production, and quality processes and limitations and be capable of solving customer technical requests within the operational framework.•\tUnderstand technical specifications of the assigned product(s) and support the Product Marketing Manager while working with customer’s proposal specifications to align the ABB’s portfolio.•\tReview and interpret electrical drawings such as single-line diagrams, elevation layouts, detailed circuit schematics and bills of materials (BOM) for electrical projects as it stated to the GIS product.•\tProvide technical support during manufacturing, installation, and commissioning phases.•\tClarifies offered and sold scope to the customers and addresses their questions, ensuring an engineering approval on time, aligned with the project schedule.
Qualifications for the roleBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or 8 years of experience. Proven experience in electrical design and engineering, preferably in control and medium voltage power systems.Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and industry best practices.Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a team environment.Handling difficult conversations with customers and colleagues in North America.High English proficiency.Power systems and protection & control knowledge.Deep knowledge of the factory process and limitations.Electrical Engineering with extensive experience in reading interpreting substation SLD, with focus on medium voltage switchgear product. Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
