Job Responsibilities:

Role Summary

The GL Accountant is responsible for the general accounting, Fixed Asset, Banking and month end closing functions for Electronics.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare weekly cash flow for Group Office ledgers and report to Corporate Treasury using an online system, Integrity.Perform inter-company reconciliation monthly and provide assistance to divisions in solving out-of-balances to ensure intercompany balances remain in balance.Complete quarterly reporting package – Other assets, Fixed Asset Continuity reports, Judgmental accrual roll forwards and Lease Commitment schedules.Prepare monthly journal entries to be posted in local ERP and Onestream system, as required.Monitor divisions during close to ensure Onestream loads are accurately reported.Prepare the audit support schedules and complete the Controllers Audit file as required. (yearly)Assist with accounts receivable, accounts payable and fixed assets, as needed.Supports the accounting team as needed to complete tasks and implement processes and procedures.Review departmental expense reports.Assist with the completion of other monthly closing activities as required.Assist with the completion of the various quarterly and business plan reporting schedules.Assist with consolidate function in corporate Onestream system as required.Practice and maintain integrity while following Magna’s Charter and Constitution.Create a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional / technical knowledge.Develop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with internal and external customers.Promote and seek excellence in all aspects of business.Comply with the designated ISO / TS 16949 responsibilities, Health & Safety rules and practices, Magna Electronics policies, procedures, and practices.Treat everyone with dignity, trust, and respect.Other duties as assigned by management.Maintains regular attendance.Follows safe work procedures; Uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE); Uses workplace tools and equipment as instructed; Reports workplace hazards, injuries and illness as soon as possible following event.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance required.CPA Designation is a plus

Experience

4+ years in an accounting / finance role; Experience in automotive a plus.Able to be a team PlayerAble to work effectively with frequent changes and competing demandsAble to set priorities to complete in timely mannerAble to demonstrate strong organizational skills and pay attention to detailAble to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal directionsAble to demonstrate strong work ethicMicrosoft Office Programs – intermediate levelProficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and an aptitude to quickly learn other software and applications; experience with Onestream a plus.Experience in SAP Comprehensive knowledge of English (verbal and written)Advanced knowledge (verbal &written) of local language required.
