Global AML Oversight and Strategic Initiatives – Transaction Monitoring and Investigations, Vice President

A member of our recruitment team will provide more details. **Job Summary:** The Global Financial Crimes Division (“GFCD”) is seeking a Vice President for a compliance role with experience in AML investigations as well as the development, implementation and monitoring of surveillance scenarios designed to identify potential money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud and other forms of misconduct. The Vice President will report into the Head of the Global AML Oversight and Strategic Initiatives and will provide oversight of the Global Transaction Monitoring and Investigations functions within the Bank. More specifically, the role will be responsible for performing data analysis, liaising with compliance and business groups to oversee transaction monitoring system and surveillance requirements, reviewing standards, procedures and operating manuals, supporting change management processes and providing advice related to investigations and reporting practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, the ability to collaborate with others, manage projects and processes, as well as multi-task. In this role, the Vice President will work across functions (compliance, operations, technology, and business personnel) and countries to support the Global AML Program and would be expected to engage with Global and Regional teams. **Major Responsibilities:** + Work collaboratively with Global and Regional Teams as well as cross-divisional stakeholders, including technology, operations, and business personnel in an effort to oversee and enable global consistency within MUFG’s transaction monitoring and investigations programs. + Assist in and oversee the development and implementation of surveillances, including transaction monitoring and detection scenarios and other financial crimes applications. + Review and opine on escalations from Regional teams that require developing and proposing recommendations to address identified issues/risks/gaps as well as areas and processes requiring improvement. + Review and provide feedback on transaction monitoring and investigations Standards and Procedures. + Conduct review and challenge of the Transaction Monitoring Coverage Assessment. + Review and challenge Transaction Monitoring scenario changes and threshold/parameter recommendations. + Provide subject matter expertise to stakeholders on system changes, projects, and escalations. **Experience/Skills** + Bachelor’s degree in analytics, business, accounting, legal or related fields is preferred. + At least 8 years of internal or industry experience in financial crimes, compliance, transaction monitoring, investigations, or data governance. + AML subject matter expertise AML Investigation Processes. + Experience with handling and analyzing large data sets and proficiency with Excel. + Experience interacting with senior leaders. + Collaborative with strong interpersonal communication skills both verbally and in writing. + Systemic thinker across enterprise. + Ability to prioritize work flows and ensure deadlines are met while maintaining a detail-oriented and organized execution. **Additional skills** + Prior experience working on a Global Team and engaging with counterparts across all Regions (Americas, EMEA, APAC etc.). + Executive level presentation skills. + Process-oriented with a strong ability to develop appropriate program enhancing strategies. + Experience interfacing with banking regulators and enforcement staff. + Understanding of an effective financial crimes risk management framework as well as AML and terrorist financing trends and typologies. + Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. + Ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization, including Bank staff, management, directors and prudential regulators, + Ability to work autonomously and initiate and prioritize own work, + Ability to work with teams of project managers. + Solid judgment, strong negotiating skills, and a practical approach to implementation – including knowledge of Bank systems. + Ability to balance regulatory requirements with the best interests of the Bank and its customers. The typical base pay range for this role is between $126K - $164K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
