ABOUT OUR ROLES 
Policy, Documentation & Outreach (“PDO”) is seeking documentation professionals who will have the opportunity to negotiate a broad variety of trading and regulatory documentation.  

The candidate will ideally have experience in negotiations of ISDA documentation suite, including various types of credit support arrangements, as well as regulatory initial margin documentation and CDEA. Experience with repurchase, securities lending or prime services documentation is also valuable.

JOB RESPONSBILITIES

Responsible for complete documentation process from drafting, reviewing, and negotiating to execution & filing of the CDEA, ISDA/CSA, GMRA, GMSLA, MSFTA’s suite of documentation and Master Confirmation Agreements for all Equity Derivative products and related ancillary documents; and related regulatory initial margin documentsReview of legal opinions on netting and collateral enforceability including liaising with external counselDevelopment and execution of negotiation strategies, outside of a playbook, to balance client and GS needsIndependently lead complex and/or sensitive negotiations for high profile clients Working closely with the Franchise and Prime business, in particular (Franchise) New Business Group and Client Services Provide mentoring, training and coaching for junior team membersResponding to queries on the master documentation from various departments including the front office;  Ongoing opportunity to challenge existing controls/processes and leverage your experience to identify risks and improve the effectiveness of the team Develop and nurture relationships across the firm to build consensus and execute on initiativesActively participate in community engagements to foster PDO’s culture of support and inclusiveness

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent or JD with a minimum of three years of experience in Legal/Trading Documentation role (including within a Credit, Risk or Treasury function) or attorney/paralegal experience within a law firmKnowledge of various legal entities including funds, insurance companies and pensionsProven excellent organizational and prioritisation skills and attention to detail, especially under pressureProven ability to negotiate and review detailed legal documents with an eye for detail and accuracy, particularly around documentation termsAbility to ensure consistency across documentation and know when to escalate issuesGood interpersonal and communications skillsEnthusiasm and interest in development of documentation skills and using such skills for the completion of negotiation processFlexibility and willingness to learn new skills and develop full job ownership


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Strong commercial acumen with a keen interest in derivative, repo, securities lending markets and products and/or prime brokerage products and servicesProficient in IT and able to adapt to various databases/systemsAdditional language skills (in French, German, Italian or Spanish) would be preferable to interact with and influence global business stakeholders and clients, in order to negotiate a broad variety of international trading and regulatory documentation in different languages, build consensus, control risks and improve operational efficiency
