Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all parts of the firm to deliver banking, sales and trading and asset management capabilities to clients around the world. In addition, Operations provides essential risk management and control to preserve and enhance the firm’s assets and its reputation. For every trade agreed, every new product launched or market entered, every transaction completed, it is Operations that develops the processes and controls that makes business flow.
We are looking for a professional and dynamic individual, preferably with a background in commodities and energy. The ideal candidate would have a keen eye for detail, with a key focus on becoming familiar with internal controls and processes used to manage the delivery risk, whilst able to multitask, work well under pressure and complete tasks before deadlines.
Power Logistics are responsible for managing all aspects of physical deliveries of Power for the Japanese Power business. The team partners very closely with the Trading business to assist them in managing any risks which arise from our physical power trading. Additionally, the team partners with Sales, Legal, Technology and other internal stakeholders to on-board new physical transactions, markets and products.
Job Responsibilities
Managing all physical power deliveries via internal systems, external vendors and external platformsSpecifically, bidding at JEPX and submission of scheduling plans to OCCTOBe our primary contact with various external counterpartiesEnsuring we meet regulatory reporting requirements set by METIEnsuring regulatory changes are managed to ensure continued market participationPartner with Technology to further increase automation and enhance systems and processesPreferred Qualification
Ideal candidate will have experience operating in the Japanese Power marketBusiness to native level in both written and spoken Japanese to cover the Japan power market. This requires operational support and interfacing with Japanese institutions (METI, JEPX, OCCTO) as well as Japanese counterparties in the trade processDrive and Motivation - can handle multiple tasks, takes initiative to improve his/her own performance or workflow processes, works intensely towards challenging goals and persists in the face of obstacles or setbacksRisk Management – possess a strong risk mindsetCommunication Skills - Communicates what is relevant and important in a clear and concise manner and shares information/new ideas with othersClient focus – client centric mindset, desire to build trusted and long-term relationships with clients Teamwork - Strong team player, collaborates with others within and across teams, encourages other team members to participate and acknowledges the contributions of othersJudgment and Problem solving - Thinks ahead, anticipates questions, finds alternative solutions, and identifies clear objectives.
