ABOUT OUR ROLES

Investment Banking Operations is responsible for all operational functions for Investment Banking. We support all product flows and provide effective control for the firm’s Investment Banking strategy

We provide full lifecycle deal support across the Financing, Lending, and Advisory businesses. The Investment Banking Operations team is comprised of subject matter experts in onboarding, deal origination, structuring, execution, and servicing in addition to adherence to market and regulatory policies and standards. The Information Services Group manages and sources market data and research to facilitate deal solicitation, client service, and ongoing market analysis.

Position Overview

Provide research support, be able to contribute to analysis that differentiates our advice, develop our Information Services structures in Investment Banking and practices and develop desktop tools using 3rd party and GS proprietary databases to improve banker efficiencies.Specialized in both industry specific and agnostic content crucial to providing IB bankers with best-in-class information 

 Responsibilities

Subject Matter Experts (SME) for industry specific research for the Global and Japan marketLiaise with IB deal teams to ensure an exact understanding of their requirements and provide concise and focused research via internal 3rd party databases, GS Research and external sources as requiredContinue to develop and improve the process and practice of knowledge and content management in Japan. Contribute to the development of standards and practices that allow our deal teams to focus their time on advising clients by minimizing repetitive, non judgment tasksProvide bespoke industry materials proactively and to push best in class qualitative/quantitative data and analysis to bankersCollaborate with banking on identifying qualifying models/tasks to automate in partnership with BCS Business TransformationProvide guidance for bankers in accessing, compiling, manipulating, and downloading data from databases available on banker desktopsMaintain strong relationships with our 3rd party vendorsIn partnership with Compliance and Market Data to design and enforce terms of use and to mitigate financial and reputational risks

 Basic Qualifications

A minimum of 2 to 3 years working experience in business information/industry research in investment banking, equity research, consulting firm or other financial services institutionsNative Level of Japanese Language skills/Business level of English proficiency (e.g. TOEIC 800 or above) both in verbal and in writingExperience working with and managing vendor relationshipsExperience with 3rd party databases
