ABOUT OUR ROLES

Cleared Collateral Management is a part of Margin, Collateral & Valuations Operations (MCVO) which sits within the Global Banking & Markets division. The primary objective of the department is the mitigation of counterparty credit risk through the active monitoring of clients’ derivatives, prime brokerage, GS execution & clearing, derivatives clearing and securities financing portfolios.  

Functions within the Cleared Collateral Operations team include the day to day oversight, control framework and risk management for matters pertaining to collateral and margin both for the firm and firm clients. This includes the mitigation of risk of multiple critical business processes that span the life cycle of derivative and futures products and have potential risk of ramifications for the Firm if performed incorrectly. The individual is responsible for daily mark to market activity, collateral settlement and risk management across our clients and the different Clearing Counterparties (CCPs). In addition, the individual is responsible to assist managers and the team in performing and providing oversight for the following responsibilities: 

JOB RESPONSBILITIES

Assist in the resolve of items related to counterparty risk exposure and prioritization of open items including the booking/recalling of cash or securities; exposure to firm and clients; approvals of payments to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.Identify and propose strategic procedural enhancements to improve efficiency and mitigate risk and drive the implementation of those approved and prioritized.Provide assistance in the implementation of strategic enhancements including development of operation requirements, testing and thought leadership resulting from efficiency opportunities, regulatory changes, mitigation of risk, etc.Provide start of day work allocation and risk assessment for the exceptions to managementApprove adjustments and exchange reconciliations performed by analystsConduct training to increase knowledge depthPerform daily client and firm collateral and margining activitiesReview and confirm settlement of payments and position transfers internally and with external brokersProvide end of day open risk exposure reports to managementPartner with technology on resolving exceptions which require adjustments 

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks and meet deadlinesEffective problem solving and critical thinking skillsAbility to exercise discretion and good judgement Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong appreciation of client service Manage risk effectively in the day-to-day processing of various tasks
