YOUR IMPACT:
The team combines engineering, research, risk management, control design and trading expertise to deliver solutions for our clients and advance the firm’s electronic trading goals. No trading system or business is complete without an integrated and thoughtful approach to controls and risk management, including the unique operational risks that come along with complex, high-speed trading systems.
Equity Strats are responsible for the equities electronic trading business, providing sophisticated execution-related services to the firm’s clients, with a particular focus on automated execution algorithms. We are responsible for research, design, implementation, testing and support of high-performance algorithmic trading systems and strategies for the firm’s futures trading businesses. The team interfaces on a regular basis with clients, traders, technology and other Strats teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Documenting algorithmic trading controls and activities for consumers both inside and outside of the team.Responding to information requests from regulators and control functions across the firm, e.g. Compliance, Risk and Internal Audit.Managing work to address follow-ups to production incidents and other operational risk events.Designing and implementing new controls; maintaining and improving existing controls.Communicating complex technical concepts and findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable solutions.SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Operations Research, Math, Physics or Statistics. Knowledge of electronic trading systems and controlsProficiency in creating and maintaining complex technical documentation.Knowledge of European equity market structure including understanding of Regulated Markets, MTFs and Systematic internalisers.Proficiency in programming language like Python, Java or C++.Interest in developments in the global financial regulatory environment.Ability to prioritise and meet simultaneous competing demands.The ability to communicate clearly and to lead conversations on technical topics.A background in QA, operations, audit, compliance, control design or operational risk and a familiarity with operational risk frameworks.ABOUT GOLDMAN SACHS
