Global Banking & Markets - Public - Dallas - Analyst - Business Controls & Supervisory

At Goldman Sachs, the Global Banking & Markets (GBM) Division’s core value is building strong relationships with its institutional clients, which include corporations, financial service providers, and fund managers. The Division helps clients buy and sell financial products on exchanges around the world, raise funding, and manage risk. We are seeking an experienced Analyst or Associate to join the Business Controls & Supervisory team in Dallas. Business Controls & Supervisory is a 1st line of defense team responsible monitoring and reporting of key market conduct controls to ensure compliance with diligent supervision standards. The team is also responsible for centralizing, standardizing and uplifting select business control processes for Global Banking & Markets (GBM) in order to reduce non-financial operational risk and increase operational efficiency. The team partners with other functions within GBM, as well as Operations, Engineering, Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Internal Audit.

The ideal candidate will have experience working across a diverse group of stakeholders, driving process improvements, and managing projects. The candidate should also have the aptitude to leverage data and technology to drive change, and demonstrate excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Primary Responsibilities

Work closely with and support senior divisional leadership to centralize and streamline select risk and controls processes for the GBM DivisionBuild complex controls solutions with GBM, Operations, Engineering, and federation stakeholdersPartner with other Divisional Controls teams to execute projects focused on regulatory-driven processes, controls implementation, and other audit-related remediation plansUnderstand strategic plans, commercial drivers, process and technical architecture to influence, design and develop solutions that align with business objectivesDevelop management reporting, reporting dashboards, and strategic tools to provide transparency on operational risks and management metrics

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; major in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or STEM fields preferred but not required2-5 years experience in operations, non-financial risk management, governance, and reporting strongly preferredProject management and process implementation / improvement experienceAdvanced Excel and PowerPoint skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using BI tools to transform large data sets and create business reportsAbility to identify and articulate complex issues to a diverse group of stakeholders, propose solutions and escalate appropriatelyCommercial focus, team player, problem solver, committed to take initiative and action to pursue goals and complete tasksCapital Markets knowledge
