Global Business Development Director, Electronics Division

Eaton’s Electronics Division is hiring a Global Business Development Director in Pleasanton CA. (Remote work is offered for this position.) This position requires 50% travel.

What you’ll do:

Job Summary
The Global Business Development Director, Electronics Division, is a pivotal role within our organization, tasked with spearheading the company's ambitious growth strategy in the global passive electronic components market. Reporting directly to Electronics VPGM, this individual will be responsible for identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships, and expanding our footprint into emerging markets. With a deep understanding of the passive components landscape and a proven track record of driving revenue growth, this leader will be instrumental in positioning our company as a market leader.    

Job Responsibilities
A. Develop and Execute Global Business Development Strategy: Craft and implement a comprehensive global business development plan that aligns with Electronics strategic objectives, focusing on expanding market share and penetrating new territories.
B. Market Analysis & Opportunity Identification: Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, analyze competitor strategies, and uncover untapped business opportunities in the passive components sector (capacitors, inductors, etc.).
C. Partnership Development & Management: Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers, distributors, and industry influencers to enhance market access, product offerings, and brand reputation. Negotiate and close complex deals that drive long-term growth.
D. Market Expansion & Entry: Lead the charge into new geographies, assessing market potential, regulatory requirements, and cultural nuances to ensure successful market entry and expansion.
E. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with sales, product development, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless alignment of company offerings with market demands and customer needs. Drive product innovation and customization to meet evolving market requirements.
F. Revenue Growth & Performance Management: Set ambitious revenue targets and develop actionable plans to achieve them. Monitor performance metrics, analyze results, and adjust strategies as needed to ensure continuous growth and profitability.
G. Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and industry leaders, to foster a positive brand image and promote collaboration.
H. Team Leadership & Mentoring: Lead a high-performing business development team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to drive individual and team success. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Qualifications:

Education level required

BS in finance, engineering, accounting, or business administration from an accredited university, MBA preferred

Years and area of experience required

A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in global business development, with a proven track record of scaling operations and driving revenue growth in the electronics industry.

Technical knowledge

Proven ability to develop and execute complex sales strategies that have delivered outstanding results in a global market context.Skilled in leading and developing a high-performing sales team through effective management techniques and motivational leadership.Deep understanding of passive electronic products, technologies, applications and market trends.Excellent financial acumen and budgeting skills, able to analyze financial data and make informed decisions.Operations experience preferred in a related industry. Familiarity with operational processes, strategies, and best practices. Ability to translate product knowledge into sales strategies and messaging that resonate with customers.Fluent in English with additional language skills considered a plus for effective communication in global settings.Skills: Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and capitalize on emerging trends and opportunities.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients across multiple cultures and languages.  Adaptable problem-solver with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure and in rapidly changing global environments.Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams across various functions.Exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across various time zones.
