Your role and responsibilitiesAs the Global Business Health and Safety Specialist, you will play a critical role in strengthening Health and Safety performance within the Motion Business by fostering a proactive and learning-driven safety culture. Rooted in Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles, you will champion “doing safety differently” by focusing on understanding how work happens, identifying and mitigating critical risks, and embedding pre- and post-incident learning.The work model for the role is: hybrid ; #LI-HybridThe role is contributing to the Motion Business Area in globally.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tChampion for Manufacturing Safety: Supporting global and local divisions by promoting global processes and tools related to manufacturing safety.•\tPolicy and Standards Creation: Developing specific safety policies and standards in alignment with ABB Group policies, focusing on continuous improvement and proactive risk management.•\tLead Safety Investigation Program: Overseeing incident investigations, training staff in root-cause analysis, facilitating learning teams, coaching investigators, and managing documentation to ensure continuous safety improvements.•\tStrategic Planning and Training: Contributing to strategy and continuous improvement of global safety processes, creating long-term plans, supporting implementation in manufacturing plants, and delivering training programs to foster a culture of proactive learning and risk awareness.
Qualifications for the role\tMinimum 10-12 years of Health & Safety experience working at a senior expert level.\tProven experience in leading safety investigations, incident investigations, risk assessments, facilitating learning teams, and mentoring investigators to ensure high-quality outcomes.\tFamiliar with ISO 45001 and 14001 Management system and Competent in conducting ISO 45001 (OHSAS18001) audits.\tFamiliar with machine safety standards like EN ISO 12100:2010, ISO 13857, ISO 13854, ISO 13850, ISO 13849, ISO 13855, ISO 14119.\tExperience in running safety programs, like risk management, safety leadership.\tRobot safety, machining safety, rotating machinery safety and related safety technologies.\tOverhead crane lifting safety, lifting tool safety, moving of cabinets, forklift safety, warehouse safety, contractor safety, working at height.\tProven track record in a global manufacturing organization with expertise in critical risk management and knowledge of Human Organizational Performance.\tConfidence in navigation around legislations for area of responsibility.\tFluent English language skills.
