Position Summary:

This Global Data Scientist - Strategy Growth Management will be responsible for leading the technical modeling that powers McCormick’s Strategic Growth Management Program in Global Marketing and Sales.  Strategic Growth Management requires a combination of strong analytics skill and business understanding, and the individual in this role will need to develop expertise in brand growth levers for driving sales/profit growth via trade and media/marketing vehicles and brand portfolio optimization.  The individual will be responsible for executing internal marketing mix, revenue growth management, brand growth, and portfolio optimization models and will consult on modeling projects done by outside vendors.  Additionally, this individual will be responsible for developing next generation strategic growth management analytical techniques for the future

 

Key Responsibilities:

Developing and defining data, technical and analytical capabilities to drive Revenue Growth Management program Model the impact of business drivers on McCormick sales and profit (Strategic Growth Management) Learn about and support internal market mix modeling and portfolio optimization, using regression-based Marketing Mix Modeling software Leverage external connections to find new and improved tools and approaches to bring into McCormick Partner with vendors used for outsourced models, serving as consultant on technical methodology Develop training content that enables business partners to use marketing optimization capabilities more effectively

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or Data Analytics/Science, or closely related field 4+ years’ experience in analytics, data science, or related field Demonstrated skills and results in analyzing complex datasets, generating insights and building robust statistical models Demonstrated ability to connect the dots between complex data/analytics and business understanding Ability/desire to communicate to and work with a non-technical audience on analytic analyses Proficiency with building dashboards for business users using data visualization software (Power BI preferred) Expertise in coding in one or more languages (Python and SQL preferred, R, Java, etc.) Expertise with Microsoft Azure/AWS/Google cloud computing environments and model development a plus/desirable Experience with building data models, machine learning & AI required Comfortable working with structured and unstructured data sources, e.g. syndicated data, SAP Proven project leadership experience with demonstrated success in balancing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment; foresees and addresses issues before they become significant obstacles Strong technical curiosity, a passion for problem solving and the ability to uncover richness of analytic insight that translates to business opportunity Demonstrated agile learning skills; ability to learn new technology, skills & tools quickly and easily Ability to synthesize analytic learnings and translate into compelling stories for a business audience Effective at building collaborative, cross functional and cross-geography partnerships Excellent written communication and presentation skills Ability to travel domestically & internationally as needed (0-5%) Strong personal leadership, including attention to detail, quality of work and bias toward action CPG or Food/Bev experience (preferred) Experience with market mix modeling and/or marketing optimization (preferred)

Base Salary: $86,390 - $151,220

 

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
