The PositionAs Global Expert Discrete Manufacturing a part of Global Engineering & Technology, you will keep abreast of future trends, new technologies or development that may be relevant or influence the company (in terms of investment, sustainability, efficiency etc) in the area of discrete manufacturing including sensors, semiconductors and other instruments. This should form the basis of an innovation strategy in discrete manufacturing for the Diagnostics Division. You should help provide the framework conditions so that innovation is encouraged, can take place, that it is coordinated worldwide and can be transferred successfully.

In your position as Global Expert Discrete Manufacturing, many exciting tasks await you:
A key role of this job is to identify, cultivate, lead and develop relevant knowledge and know-how within the engineering function and wider community as well as to develop an awareness of and a capability to develop new, innovative and creative technologies in this field. These ideas should be collected, developed and wherever necessary and appropriate, be driven forward.
You will contribute to the successful implementation of Global Expert panels and SME communities within the Division as well as support the development of the SME Network Operating Model. This role will include linking to the Engineering function capability assessment and development.
You develop a continuous improvement process (CIP) in coordination with the capability development function and define appropriate metrics to measure the capability status and its evolution in time.
You will have the responsibility to establish and maintain partnerships and collaboration with third parties including Universities and relevant institutions and professional bodies
As part of the global Innovation & technology team, you will further develop its impact and lead future-guiding case studies. You measure the achievement of innovation strategy in discrete manufacturing and goals and support the innovation process with expertise on patents
You provide up-to-date and relevant expert technical knowledge, consultancy, advice and leadership
You will contribute to building a framework for technical due diligence
You expand methodologies used in technology assessments to meet holistic Roche goals.
You will support the development and execution of the Engineering & Technology vision, strategies, goals and priorities
You provide support to projects and activities relevant to your field of expertise as required.
The scope of the role encompasses all sites and operations of Roche Diagnostics.
Who you are:
If you find yourself in this mission and if you have the following qualifications, you have come to the right place:
You have successfully completed your studies in an engineering or science related discipline
You could already gain 10 - 15 years of experience in Industry, preferably and/or in the semiconductor or Pharma/Diagnostics industry
In addition, you have at least 5 years’ experience in project management and ideally more than 3 years of management/mentoring expertise.
You have advanced knowledge and experience in facility design for semiconductor and sensor manufacturing
Experience in technology transfer from development into a cGMP manufacturing facility
You should ideally bring some experience in project management, project controls as well as operations and in development.
You are fluent in English. Proficient skills in German would be an advantage.
A cooperative collaboration, also in a matrix organization and in interdisciplinary teams, is a particular pleasure for you.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indiana is $103,500.00 - $192,300.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
