About the team and the role:

eBay wants to expand our horizon and raise our professional ceiling; this new and exciting Global Health And Safety Manager role will do just that! You will own the global EH&S program for eBay’s warehouse and logistic verticals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Health and Safety within the warehouse and logistics setting and work closely with internal and external partners. What you will accomplish:

Be a strategic partner for leadership and business owners for all EHS, compliance, and regulatory needs within the global warehouse real estate portfolio! Build and implement corrective action plans to remedy audit and inspection findings. Nurture cross-functional partnerships to include but not limited to the global business unit. Yield new insights for leadership through detailed status updates and trend analyses. Craft and maintain robust training programs and requirements. Develop, implement and supervise safety programs for day-to-day production and minimize the risks caused by local, national, and global emergencies.Provide meticulous and regular safety training to all personnel and visitors on site.Collect and analyze data for safety and health related audits and reports.Investigate workplace injuries and accidents.Examine plans for new construction and equipment installation.Supervise workplace conditions, such as noise, temperature levels and air quality.Ensure compliance with policies and mandates enforced by all countries where multinational companies have presence.Actively connect with management, employees, customers, vendors and the community.Build a sense of trust within the organization by disseminating accurate information about industry and worldwide issues and concerns.Keep abreast of current safety and health issues for each country and region that Warehouse Logistic Resources coordinates.Inspect and ensure all facilities are aligned with eBay’s global regulatory responsibilities and policies are current surrounding occupational health and safety.Partner with Operations leaders to reduce EHS risk across the organization. Partner with ESG leadership and accurately report on eBay’s facility carbon footprint and develop strategies to reduce corporate carbon emissions.Supervise and evaluate the efficiency of health and safety programs and initiatives. Foster a culture of safety through regular communication, engagement, and feedback mechanisms. Benchmark safety performance against industry standard methodologies and drive continuous improvement. Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams to integrate safety considerations into operational processes (e.g. 5S, 6S, Six Sigma). 

What you will bring:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred. 8+ years of global EHS, with an understanding of compliance law. 4+ years of experience managing global teams in a warehouse and logistics environment. Certified safety professional (CSP) preferred.  Certified industrial hygienist preferred.  Institute of occupational safety and health (IOSH) level 3 certification preferred.  Qualified environmental professional preferred.  OSHA experience preferred.ISO 45001 experience preferred.Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate and manage a diverse array of responsibilities. Availability with immediate response at any time to sophisticated incidents Ability to work through ambiguity. 25% international and domestic travel, required.
